Reading aloud to my children has been of the many joys of motherhood. I have always loved exploring different books with my children, whether it be board books, encyclopedias, comics, picture books, or chapter books. I distinctly remember my second-grade teacher reading Beverly Cleary’s books to the class. I used to be so excited to discover what the next chapter would bring. Thanks to my incredible teacher, I decided to do the same with our homeschool. When we first started we read the Frog and Toad books and later branched out to books like the Magic Tree House series or Charlotte’s Web. Today I’ll share a list of our favorite chapter books.
Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel
Magic Tree House Series by Mary Pope Osborne
My Father’s Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannet
Encyclopedia Brown by Donald J Sobel
Planet Omar by Zanib Mian
I Survived by Lauren Tarshis
Ranger in Time by Kate Messner
Who Was ?(series by various authors)
Charlotte’s Web, The Trumpet and the Swan, Stuart Little ( E.B White)
Jannah Jewels by N. Rafiq
Beastly Tales by Malcome Yorke
The Turtle of Oman by Naomi Shihab Nye
Praire Lotus by Linda Sue Park
The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary
Survivor Kid: A Practical Guide to Wilderness Survival by Denise Long
